It’s probably more than likely that you are already familiar with the growing craze of bands performing one or more of their earlier albums in full – a recent tradition in which a well-known act will play a whole album in its entirety rather than the preferred method of playing the same old hits back-to-back, strung together by a lucky dip of album tracks. Upon the announcement that Primal Scream would be applying the same concept to their next tour, there was very little question of which of their nine albums they were going to choose. When it finally became the Scottish group’s turn to pick a particular favourite from their lengthy back catalogue, ‘Screamadelica’ was, of course, the obvious choice. Although 2000’s critically-applauded ‘XTRMNTR’ has become a modern classic itself, it was their third album that first brought The Primals to worldwide notoriety. Plus, it also happens to be the album’s 20th anniversary, so why not take it out on the road for one last run?

Cee-Lo Green has dropped out of Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ summer tour to concentrate on his role as judge on TV singing series ‘The Voice’, according to reports. Although the series finishes its extensive filming schedule in one week, the ‘Forget You’ singer has chosen to drop out of the tour, claiming that he “wouldn’t give the fans the show that they deserve”.

Jon Fratelli has revealed the video for his new single ‘Baby, We’re Refugees!’, which is due for release on 1st August – watch below. The track is the latest to be taken from his forthcoming debut solo album ‘Psycho Jukebox’, which will precede the single on 25th July. ‘Baby, We’re Refugees!’ follows recent single ‘Santo Domingo’, the previous track from the former Fratellis frontman, which was released earlier this year. Fratelli will be performing at a number of festivals over the coming months, including T In The Park, Bingley Music Live, London’s Godiva Festival and Prestonpans Music Festival in Scotland.

Miley Cyrus was left shocked after being hugged by another human being. The former ‘Hannah Montana’ star was performing a rendition of her 2009 hit ‘The Climb’ when a young fan managed to gain access to the stage and hug the singer. However, Cyrus was more than shaken when a security guard pushed the young girl back into the crowd, leading Cyrus to flee the stage.

Solo artist John Grant and Texan folk-rockers Midlake are to perform Grant’s debut album ‘Queen of Denmark’ together at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Wednesday 7th September. ‘Queen of Denmark’, on which John Grant collaborated with Midlake, was released in April last year through Bella Union records and went on to earn a number of praising reviews as well as being named Mojo Magazine’s Album of the Year. John Grant is currently on tour in the UK – see below for all dates and tickets.

Manchester-based electronic rock trio The Whip have announced details of their new album ‘Wired Together’, which is due for release on 19th September. The album is the band’s second to date, following their 2008 debut ‘X Marks the Destination’. The Whip have also revealed a number of live dates including a performance at London’s Wireless Festival in Hyde Park next weekend and dates supporting The Music on their farewell tour in August. More gigs are expected soon – see below for all dates and tickets.

Pulp have confirmed that they will be making the second ‘surprise guest’ performance of this year’s Glastonbury festival. The ‘Common People’ rockers are set to grace the Park Stage this evening, following on from a warm-up show in London yesterday (June 24th).

US alt-country band Richmond Fontaine have revealed details of a new single entitled ‘Lost in the Trees’, which is due for release on 29th August. The track is the first single to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘The High Country’ – the band’s tenth to date and the follow-up to 2009’s ‘We Used to Think the Freeway Sounded Like a River’.

US rockers The Twilight Singers have announced details of a new single entitled ‘Blackbird and the Fox’, which is due for release on 8th August. The track is the latest single to be taken from the band’s fifth album ‘Dynamite Steps’ – released earlier this year – and features guest vocals from Grammy Award-winning folk singer Ani DiFranco. The Twilight Singers have also confirmed details of several UK live dates. Following performances at this weekend’s Glastonbury Festival and T In The Park next month, the band will be playing headlining shows at The Garage in London (24th August) and Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms (25th August) ahead of their appearances at the Reading and Leeds festivals – see below for dates and tickets.

U2 have confirmed that they will be releasing a deluxe edition of their classic album 'Achtung Baby' to mark the 20th anniversary of the LP’s original release. According to Rolling Stone, the new edition will feature a large selection of unseen footage and rare alternate versions of hits from the record.

Dave Matthews has revealed that he is unable to embark on long tour jaunts due to commitment to his children. The ‘Gravedigger’ singer and his band were known as one of the hardest working and highest-earning tour acts in 2010, however Matthews has now revealed that long world tours may be a thing of the past.

People speak of Lady Gaga as the first since Madonna to successfully infuse great pop music with inspired pop style. This argument can be retorted simply with two words: Patrick Wolf. Talent does not separate the Gaga from the Wolf, rather media attention, fan base, sex and nationality. So why is it that with a sensational pop album in Lupercalia and his previous efforts has no-one asked Mr Wolf when his time was? Granted his last effort, The Bachelor was given mixed reviews with some stating its striking lack of focus. With this album, he returns triumphantly, not as an immature pop star but as an intelligent artist. Past aside, his time is now.

Coldplay unveiled a new track ‘Major Minus’ online last night (June 23rd) and a second ‘Moving To Mars’ today (June 24th). The English four-piece have confirmed that ‘Major Minus’ will be the second song to be taken from their upcoming ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’ EP, which is scheduled for digital release on June 26th. It has just been confirmed that Radiohead are heading to Glastonbury for a surprise appearance on the Park Stage today (June 24th). Despite not being known as the world’s most reliable source, fans were left hopeful after The Sun claimed today that the ‘Kid A’ band will be making their second surprise appearance in a row at the Worthy Farm festival. However the band have now confirmed the rumours to music magazine NME.
